What Type Of Grass Is Best For My Needs?

The Australian climate can be really tough on lawns.

The amount of shade, the climate extremes, the amount of mowing and irrigation requirements all play a part in the success and quality of your lawn.

Before you choose a grass variety you should look carefully at where you plan to put your new turf and think about the following requirements:

• Shade tolerance
• Weed, disease, and pest insect resistance

How Do I Look After My New Lawn?

After the initial establishment period your new Atlas turf will need a minimal amount of maintenance.

The degree and frequency of the maintenance programme will depend on the grass variety and the particular local climatic conditions.

To keep your Atlas turf looking its best you will generally need to:

• Water two to three times per week in hot dry periods and once a week in winter
• Mow the lawns once a week in spring and summer
• Fertilise the lawn every eight weeks for the first 12 months and then four times a year thereafter (especially in autumn)
